But for almost no move is that the whole story: the final price also depends on how many people are actually needed and how much time the job requires. Number of people — the most common reason the price changes

One person can manage a small move — a few boxes or a single room, for example. But for a larger volume of belongings, heavy furniture, or a high floor without a lift, one person will take considerably longer than two or three people working together. Each additional person increases the hourly rate but often reduces the total number of working hours — so the final price doesn't always increase proportionally.

Volume of belongings

Naturally, a single room with a few boxes costs less than a three-room apartment with a full set of furniture. But volume isn't just about boxes — the number of large items (wardrobes, sofas, beds) matters too, since these take more time and effort than boxes of equal volume, and often determine whether one person is enough or additional people are needed.

Access — floor, lift, parking

An apartment with a lift and convenient parking moves considerably faster than a fifth-floor flat with no lift on a narrow Old Town street. The time needed to get belongings from the door to the vehicle directly affects the total working hours — and therefore the price.

Distance between addresses

A move within a single district of Riga takes less time than, for example, a move from Riga to one of the surrounding towns. Distance affects both fuel and time costs.

Add-on services

Packing, furniture disassembly and reassembly, or extra care for fragile items are services that can be added to the basic move. They're not compulsory, but if you use them, they affect the total price. A good service provider clearly states which of these are included and which are extra.
